Yes–eating local is fantastic! This was an ethic that I was raised with. My parents grew or raised most of our food and then donated much of what wasn’t used to the local “share” program. Now that I have moved away from home, I am working towards eating food grown and raised locally. Thanks for the great post (and linking to me)!

Welcome aboard MsMamma! Actually I learned about Pointowski (I think I might have that close) from the wonderful song by Lou and Peter Berryman and have actually been to the marker. I am also glad to see someone taking the bull by the horns and editing the Wikipedia. I challenged people to do that in an earlier post.

Hey Wausau- This is off topic but FYI, I just edited Wikepedia under “Wausau – the geography section” to include the interesting tidbit that our fair city is just shy of being dead center of the northern half of the western hemisphere. If you’ve never been, it’s a cool, close little jaunt.
